MEET GRIFFIN
Griffin VanMeter is a community builder, entrepreneur, and candidate for Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council, District 3.
For over two decades, Griffin has co-founded local businesses, created jobs, preserved historic buildings, and supported nonprofits and cultural initiatives across Lexington. He recently co-led the successful "Yes for Parks" campaign, securing a dedicated funding stream that will contribute over $8 million annually to playgrounds, trails, and park amenities.
Most mornings, you'll find Griffin leading the Ashland Walk N Roll — a neighborhood bike-and-walk bus where kids, parents, and neighbors travel to school together, bells ringing and bubbles flying.
Griffin is pursuing a Master of Public Administration with a Graduate Certificate in Urban Planning at the University of Kentucky. He and his wife, Sarah Wylie VanMeter, are raising their three children — Otis, Homer, and Smith — near Woodland Park in the heart of District 3.
He believes cities are for people — and joy is a community value.
